James has appeared in numerous films such as Baby Driver (2017) and period dramas Darkest Hour (2017) and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society 2018, and The Dig 2021, as in the musicals Mamma Mia! We Go Again 2018 and Yesterday (2019). In 2022, her performance in the role of Pamela Anderson was recognized with a Golden Globe nomination and a Primetime Emmy Award.
