Shailene has been a popular American actress as well as activist. Her fame was boosted by her performance as Alexandra King the teen addict on The Descendants. Following her excellent performance in The Descendants she went on to play a variety of parts that demonstrated her versatility. Shailene managed to get a place of prominence in the film industry early in her career. This is itself an accomplishment. When she began her career, she was working on commercials and television, her next step was to take on prominent part in Hollywood film. Because of her acting abilities she's been awarded numerous prizes, such as MTV Movie Awards, People's Choice Awards as well as Teen Choice Awards. Some other prestigious awards like those of the BAFTA Awards and Golden Globe Awards are also awarded to her. Shailene is not just an outstanding actor, she's as an environmentalist and activist. Together with her mom she co-founded All it Takes as a not-for-profit in the year 2010. She was awarded an Entertainment Industry Environmental Leadership Award in the year 2016 during the 20th Anniversary Global Green Environmental Awards.
